Whistle; vessel flute
Zoomorphic whistle, vessel flute. Carved from dark wood in the shape of a duck. Its stylised head bears a black painted beak and inset eyes of nassa shell. A large circular hole is positioned at the centre of its back, which above a wide cavity. The surface is incised with carved lines to indicate feathers and the wings are outlines with concentric oval shapes on the sides of the whistle.
