English-system concertina. Flat mahogany ends, 5.31in/135mm across parallel sides. Simple fretwork with pine backing. 32 buttons: 16 each side; ivory with black accidentals, stamped. Round-end nickel reeds. Four-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Black leather straps with nickel screws. Oval paper label: Improved Concertina Manufacturer J Russell, 20 Goswell St, Clerkenwell, London; Serial number: 1902.
