Duct flute; chabbabeh

Chabbebeh, duct flute, made from a single piece of blackwood with a separate wooden block inserted into the mouthpiece. Conical bore and exterior. Seven fingerholes and one thumbhole just above the top fingerhole. The holes are round and are recessed with longitudinal elliptical indentations. Both ends of the instrument are adorned with two decorative lathed ridges. The top end of the instrument has a short mouthpiece (approximate length: 10 mm). The mouth or window is rectangular, approximately 6x4 mm.The duct or windway is D-shaped.
