English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.06in/154mm across parallel sides, with bevelled edges. Foliate frets with pine backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side, ivory with black accidentals, stamped and bushed. Round-end nickel reeds. Five-fold green leather bellows with fancy gold flowers on white papers. Left-hand green leather strap, right-hand strap later, with nickel screws. Oval paper label: Rock Chidley, Manufacturer, 135 High Holborn, London; Serial number: 3185.
