English-system concertina. Flat mahogany ends, 6.19in/157mm across parallel sides; simple fretwork with pine backing. 48 ivory buttons, black accidentals, stamped and bushed in felt. Round-end nickel reeds, some are steel replacements. Four-fold black leather bellows with gold star papers. Later brown leather straps with screws absent.
