Rattle drum
Rattle drum. Narrow cylindrical wooden frame incorporating a handle. The handle is angled to the side, forming a P-shape with the frame. The hide membranes are sewn together around the centre of the outside of the frame and contain rattling stones. The handle is covered in a buckskin grip, which has a sewn seam down one side and terminates in a tassel consisting of four leather strips. The membranes are decorated with a painted design that is probably symbolic, with a round central patch in orange, encircled by five smaller dots in blue. Shareable Link
