Concertina
English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides, with ornate pearl inlays in each corner; simple floral frets with muslin backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side; silver capped nickel, bushed. Round-end brass reeds, double sided reed pan with chambers on both sides, large hexagonal baffle with oval and teardrop shaped holes to concentrate air flows. Five-fold green leather bellows with deep bellows frames to accommodate double pans. Green/gold papers. Black leather straps with one nickel screw. Oval scalloped paper label: Patent concertina by George Case, Boosey & Sons, Holles St, London; Serial numbers: end and reed pan (stamped) 2188, side stamp 1804.
