Crotals

A large bronze or brass finger ring with a tapering extension resembling a long fingernail is decorated with a rope pattern. There are five small integral rings on the outer sides, one at the tip, one at the middle and three at the base, to which were once attached five grooved pellet bells (two are missing). The ring is a pair with Horniman Museum number M30.3.53/51b, and both match the pair of dancer's anklets, Horniman Museum numbers M30.3.53/50a and M30.3.53/50b. Given by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum.
