Concertina
English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 7.25in/184mm across parallel sides; simple fretwork with pine backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side, black accidentals, stamped and bushed. Round-end brass reed with large pine baffles mounted on bolts on underside of pans. Five-fold green leather bellows with green and gold papers, reinforcement on lower fold. Later crude straps with small nickel screws. Oval scalloped paper label: 'George Case, Manufacturer and Professor of the Concertina, 32 New Bond St, (late Joseph Scates) London'. Serial numbers: reed pan 412, bellows and end 411.
