Concertina
English-system concertina. Flat bird’s eye maple ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides; no label or number hole, curved rosewood block for finger rest, bolts on eyelets. 48 flat ivory buttons, black accidentals (2 absent), bushed. Square-end riveted brass reeds, slim pattern, all screwed onto thin pan. Shelf-like pan cradle, flutina style. Lower reeds have stamps on pan: right-hand: 5, 6, 9, 1; left-hand: 8, 15, 7, 4. Five-fold red leather bellows with silver embossed diamond pattern papers, numbers in copperplate inside, plus: 'VM 1846'. Straps absent. Repairer's mark: 'Tamburro Feb 1973’. Pans stamped: '37D' (right) and '37G' (left). Dealer stamp on side of end: 'Lewis and Co, 90 Cheapside, London'. Label absent. Serial number: 37.
