Concertina
Anglo-German system concertina. Flat mahogany ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides, each with three areas of fretwork with brown muslin backing. Scalloped label hole. 21 flat bone buttons: 10 each side, stamped 1-10, + 1 air lever, acting on a rod. Round-end brass reeds in half-filled radial pan. Five-fold green leather bellows, with gold star papers. Later leather straps with nickel screws. Dealer's label in reed pan: 'WC Burden, Dealer in Musical Instruments, 27 Saint Nicholas St, Leicester'. Action label: 'May [18]81, repaired by J Belgrave, Plantation Rd, Oxford, 6 Tachbrook St, Leamington'. Oval scalloped paper label: 'Patent concertina by George Case, Boosey & Ching, Holles St, London.' Serial numbers: end 3201, side 2964.
