Accordeaphone

Accordeaphone, one of ten made, as an attempt by Lachenal & Co to create an instrument sounding like a piano accordion (whose popularity was overwhelming the concertina) yet fingered like the English-system concertina. Square plastic-veneered plywood ends, 8.5in/216mm across parallel sides, fully fretted, with 'accordeaphone' worked into the frets. 41 domed amber plastic buttons: 20 each side + 1 air. Round-end steel reeds, double musette-tuned, in pairs in adjacent chambers. Ten-fold blue leather bellows. Dark blue leather thumb straps, with small nickel screws, long leather wrist straps with large nickel screws and nickel securing straps, plus dog-lead style neck strap. No serial number.
