Clavichord, unfretted. Compass C2-D6 (C-d3) chromatic, four octaves and two notes, 51 notes. Double-strung throughout. Walnut case with brass hinges on a trestle stand. Ebony naturals with gilded arcades, ivory-covered accidentals. The soundboard painted in tempera with flowers by Mabel Dolmetsch. The interior of the lid inscribed 'Plus fait douceur que violence'.
