French flageolet
French flageolet. Ebony body with two ivory ferrules: one around the head joint tenon socket and the other around the ring of the foot. Two joints. There are four small round finger holes of different sizes, and two thumb holes on the back. The beak has a concave lower edge and tapered top and sides. Mouth or window meets the bore in a narrow lateral rectangle. The lowest note sounds approximately B.
