Goblet drum

Goblet-shaped drum. The body turned from a single piece of wood with a rounded bowl at the top and an open cylindrical stem beneath. The hide membrane is glued into position and buttoned to 21 wooden pegs beneath the rim (two of the pegs are missing). The pegs are of different lengths and are sharpened to points. A scored line in the surface of the body indicates that the edge of the membrane has been cut straight after having been positioned. The lower rim of the drum is set at an oblique angle.
