Bronze Nao with Elephant Pattern

Preserved in good condition. The handle (yong) is broken and lost. The whole body of the instrument is covered in patina and is of dark brown colour. The underside (wu) is flat and the two xian points tilt slightly inwards. The body is wide and broad. The mouth (yu) is slightly curved. The body features an animal-mask motif as its main design, which is formed by flat, thick lines, and is decorated with cloud patterns. The front of the gu has an animal-mask motif but no Kui dragons on either side. The sides of the gu have 3D elephant designs. The surrounding areas of the central panel (zheng) do not have any tiger or fish designs. Instead, there are 18 spiral studs.
