Bianzhong with Panchi Motifs (Bronze bell) (4 bells)

Although bells No. 25074 and 25075 have cracks on their gu, the rest of the bells are well preserved. Made of Bronze. Bell No. 25073 has iron black colour on its surface. The other bells are all covered with green patina. These bells have similar shapes and structures. The body of each bell is long and thin, and is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. The mouth (yu) is curved. The two xian points are pointing slightly inwards. The upper surface (wu) is flat and has a square-shaped suspension loop (niu), which is flat. The niu and the body are trapezoid shaped when viewed from the front. Thick lines in low relief are used as frames to define the central panel (zheng), the areas (zhuan) between the studs, the gu and studs. No traces of polishing are found inside the body. There are no lips around the mouth (yu) of the bell. There are studs on the body of each bell. The decorative patterns on each bell are similar. The loop (niu) is decorated with S-shaped clouds and triangle patterns. The gu of each bell is decorated with panchi patterns [in legend, panchi is a curled dragon without a horn].
