Zhong with Cord Pattern (Attachment 5) (Bronze bell with studs)

The body of the bell is broken and has four holes in it. One of the xian points is misshapen. Made of bronze, with blue-green colour on the surface. This instrument features the common characteristics of a bronze bell with a three-column stud design. The body of the bell is flat and slim, and shaped like a combined pair of tiles. The mouth (yu) is slightly curved. There is a raised collar (decorated with cord patterns) cast around the top of the tubular handle (yong), which is connected to the inside of the bell. The mouth (yu) has inner lips. Thick lines cast in low relief form frames that divide the studs, the central panel (zheng) and the gu. There are no zhuan (areas between the studs). There are 36 spiral studs on the body of the bell. The rest of the body has a plain design.
