This violin bow was possibly made by John Fisher Maghie of Dalston, Cumberland, the same maker who almost certainly made the related violin (1972.63.1). The stick of the bow is made of dark wood and the frog possibly of ebony (?). The hair of the bow which were usually made of horsehair, are cut.
