Flute
The body and foot of black wood; the head of nickel silver with an ebonite cusped lip plate; the keywork and mounts of nickel silver; the keys embodying both levers and rod axles: the German "Reform" flute in an early form; a closed ring-key for R2 is opened through opposed springing by L1 and L3 together, and closed by R2 against the secondary sprint. Cylindrical head and conical bore; compass to low B natural; in fitted velvet-lined case with cleaning mop, and protectors (two metal and one plastic) for tenons and a socket.
