Snare drum owned by James Blades. Heads of skin. Metal rim and tensioning hoops. Eight tensioning screws. Adjustable snare formed of ten helical wires. Inscription on rim, stamped, 'KING SNAPPER / Rd No 38813 /18 HAWKES AND SON / MAKERS / LONDON /7747'. The original brass rim has been coated with gold paint. In a navy canvas bag with an attached paper label inscribed, 'HAWKES AND SON / KING SNAPPER / 14-3 / SINGLE TENSION / CALF HEADS / 1926 / CURIO?'
