Drumstick owned by James Blades. Cast pedal, bracket and clamp. Adjustable return spring. Mop-head on adjustable shank. Leather patch added to head of drumstick. Modification by James Blades ? in the form of extra striker fitted to shaft of drumstick. Full inscription cast into pedal: 'LUDWIG / PEDAL / LUDWIG AND LUDWIG / CHICAGO ILL. / USA PAT. 52609 / PAT. PENDG'. Cast on underside of peda,l 'PA31' and on underside of base, 'PA33'.
