Conch-shell trumpet
A shell horn trumpet, probably nineteenth century, from the Hawaii Islands with a hole cut into it acting as a mouthpiece. This object was collected by Thomas Steel (1858-1925), an industrial chemist and naturalist, probably during the period he was working at the sugar refinery at Nausori, Fiji from 1885 to 1887.
