Bell

A nineteenth century African metal bell made by the Edo or Bini people of Benin in square section and metal loop handle. Decorated with hatching pattern. These quadrangular brass bells were in religious practices to attract the attention of the ancestors. They were also sometimes worn around the neck by warriors in battle.
