The pale blue sole of the sandals is printed with the place-names Amanohashidate and Monju-do on one and the function of the amulet (to protect feet and lower back) on the other. The sandals are made of Kyoto chirimen silk, pale blue on the sole and printed red with white petals on the top and a golden cord used to shape the straps. The amulet is sold mounted on a card (b) which is printed with place-names, Amanohashidate and Monju-do and further information on the amulet's functions.
