Drum
Drum made of wood and snakeskin of the 'waisted' or hourglass shape. Carved from the same piece of wood and protruding at one side is a longitudinal ridge of more or less semi-circular lugs with a larger more decorative lug at the top which has been broken. In the middle of the lugs is a loop handle. Round the waist of the drum is a band of incised decoration. The membrane is snakeskin, and remains attached to the body of the drum despite the leaf or grass fibre binding which once held it in place having become detached.
