Violin
Unfinished violin made for a series of specimens showing the various stages of construction of a handmade violin on the Italian system. Two-piece top and linings made of spruce (Picea abies). One-piece back made of diagonal flamed sugar maple (Acer saccharum). Ribs, neck, and scroll made of sugar maple (Acer saccharum). Pegs, nut, fingerboard, saddle, tailpiece, and end-pin made of ebony (Diospyros ebenum). The instrument doesn't have strings, bridge and soundpost. This instrument was donated by the maker himself.
