clear light golden brown spirit varnish. Back: handsome, single piece of sycamore, slightly arched, recovered and ridged at the edge; corners long, purfling carefully done; 2 studs in the button. Belly: 1 piece pine, moderately arched, finely purfled; f-holes (46mm) carefully cut, with edges rounded. Ribs: figured wood. endpin ebony, nut pearl. Tailpiece: ebony, bell-shaped with 2-hole tie and 2 concentric pearl rings inlaid; nut pearl. Bridge: modern, cut down to antique shape. Fingerboard: ebony, wider than the neck, cut in a wedge; nut ebony. Neck: slender, compromise between what is needed to play and the proportions of the model; in 1 piece with head. Pegbox: rough inside, but edges and back carefully done. Pegs: 4, ebony, oval pearl centres and spots in ends. Scroll: very carefully cut, in proportion with body, an elegant small reproduction of a Strad pattern. Length 340, back 146, width 70/45/85, ribs 13
