standard 6-string Spanish model with frets. Back: flat, one piece of medium-flamed sycamore, sloping slightly up from left to right, without purfling, varnished golden brown. Ribs: similar, but slab cut and of irregular figure, made in 2 strips only right around the body, separated at the endpin by a tapered strip of darker wood. Belly: one piece of unvarnished pine, with a round sound-hole; neck: hardwood painted black; fingerboard: similar, but a separate piece, with 19 brass frets and a bone peg underneath for a sling. Head: spliced on to neck, flat, and waisted with a round end with a hole in the end for hanging. Inside: shaped transverse bars on back and belly.
