Technical description: Bookmatched soundboard of spruce. Soundhole 71mm diameter. Decoration around the soundhole consists of an ebony edging, the full thickness of the soundhole, with a half-herringbone pattern in green and maple (the green colour probably stained maple). There is a gap of 4mm to a thin ebony strip, and then another gap to a herringbone design (with central maple strip) surrounded by strips of ebony/maple/ebony on either side. Outside that is a gap of about 6mm to a thin ebony strip and then another gap to a green and maple half-herringbone design surrounded by ebony and then a gap of about 12mm to a final thin ebony strip. The purfling around the edge of the soundboard consists of an ivory edging, with the herringbone surrounded by ebony/maple/ebony strips on either side. The bridge is of ebony, oblong, with rounded ends. Separate saddle of ivory, and bridge pins of ivory with green abalone eyes. The bookmatched sides and one piece back are of birdseye maple. There is a tapering strip of ebony at the bottom, approximately 16mm wide at the top, 10mm wide at the back, with an ivory endpin with an ebony band outside of the eye. The purfling between the back and the sides is of ivory, with ebony strips on the back and sides, that on the sides mirroring the top. The birdseye maple on the back is a veneer, laid onto another strip of maple without any special pattern. Ebonised heel, neck and head, the wood is probably maple. Ivory heel-cap. The heel curves into the neck, and the neck joins the head with a Vjoint. Brass machines with ivory buttons and rollers. The top of the head is veneered in rosewood. Ivory nut. Ebony fingerboard which is glued to the top of the soundboard. Eighteen full width frets. The width of the neck is 48mm at the nut and 60.2mm at the body join.
