Duplex horn. Nominal pitch: F / E♭.
Technical description: Brass with plain german silver bell garlands, ferrules and stays. 3 main valves to be played by left hand, bell-change valve by right hand. Larger bell of saxhorn proportions; smaller bell of trumpet or trombone proportions. Both bells directed upwards; smaller bell detachable by screw fitting. With alternative main tuning-slide for E♭ for larger bell. Valve type: 4 rotary valves. Main valves 1,2,3, with single cork buffer on rotor, bell-change valve no buffers. Repair History: Touchpieces, springs and levers not original; the F main tuning-slide for the larger bell made by A.K.F. Wilson, c1984.
