Purfling around rose consists of three thin inked lines. Purfling around edge of the soundboard consists of two thin inked lines. Back and sides of figured maple, both with a close deep flame. The sides are one piece, with ten ivory string pins, and a hole which originally held an endpin. Ebony soundboard protector where the strings pass from the bottom over the soundboard at the lower corner. Bookmatched back, the joint now separated slightly. Two inked purfling lines. Heel, neck and head probably of maple. The neck part has been recessed in the centre to reduce the mass and give the impression of holding only the treble part. The head is carved in a scroll shape in side view and with high relief leaves on the back. Watchkey tuning mechanism through the head. The nut is of ebony. Fingerboard of ebony with ivory inlaid over all but the edges. Noticeably radiused over its width. Holes through the neck in the first five frets for a capotasto. The capotasto itself is of ivory with a piece of leather underneath and a brass screwing mechanism for tightening. Neck is 215mm long, and 61mm wide throughout its length. 15 brass frets. Repair History: The nut is a replacement.
