Helicon. Nominal pitch: B♭.
Technical description: Brass with german silver plain garland, bow guard, ferrules etc. Plain garland. Curved mouthpipe adjustable for angle by ligature fitting. Water-key on main tuning-slide. Valve type: 3 rotary valves with cork buffers on rotors. Repair History: Mouthpipe was replaced prior to acquisition (4 broken parts preserved). 2nd valve tuning-slide bow has been replaced (original bow guard not refitted but preserved). Water-key lever has been replaced by a shorter one and the saddle re-positioned to suit (original lever preserved).
