Technical description: Soundboard of spruce; back, ribs, head, neck and fingerboard of sycamore; tail-gut protector, pegs, endpin, chin-rest (not original) of rosewood; tailpiece (not original) of ebony. Dark brown varnish. Ebony/sycamore/ebony purfling. Purfling trenches very poorly cut. F-holes, the notches in the side have only been indicated on the top, not cut all of the way through. Soundboard arch 16mm. Sides and back unfigured. Two piece back, 17mm arch, angled so the centre line of the wood goes from the left at the bottom to the right at the top. Plugged hole in the top near the heel. Purfling on the back is inked on. neck and head of one piece, the neck having a golden varnish. Neck 132 long; fingerboard 248 long, 21.6 wide at nut, 39.7 wide at bottom. Poorly cut scroll. Repair History: Repaired crack from the treble f-hole circle to the bottom. Considerable repairwork on the bass lower bout and treble waist ribs.
