Technical description: Grand piano, compass: A*0 - A₇ [AA - a'''']. Height of instrument with lid closed 900, distance from the floor to the top of the natural touchplates 706. Downstriking action, dampers from A*0 - G♯₅, originally there was a damper for A₅, now missing. Ivory naturals, ebony accidentals, sycamore keyfronts, length of natural touchplates 48, length of accidental touchplates 100. The top of the soundboard is set 189 below the top of the case. The soundboard grain is almost perpendicular to the spine. Two bridges, the lower bridge for strings A*0 - C₂. Single strung A*0 - B*0, double strung C₁ - E♭₂, triple strung E₂ - A₇. Two pedals with lyre. The prop-stick is attached to the bentside. New felts on the key hammers. Red cloth between the bridge and the bentside to dampen unwanted resonances. Three legs with screw in threads, legs on castors. Bulbous brass handles for lifting out the hammer/action mechanism.
