Cornet. Nominal pitch: B♭.

Technical description: Brass, with detachable bell and curved reinforcing bar on bell bow. Ligature tuning at mouthpipe; external diameter of shank and crook tenon c9.75 long main tuning-slide, maximum length of pull 122; Instead of numerous terminal shanks and crooks, there is one shank and one crook to be used as alternatives, each with adjustable depth of insertion; together with long main tuning-slide, all the usual tonalities are obtainable. Ligature attachment of bell, tenon length 25.This model has the valve cluster placed closer to the mouthpiece receiver than with the standard French cornet. Support ring for R4 on mouthpipe; this ring has a threaded fitting for music card holder, not present. Valve type: 3 Périnet valves, bottom sprung; alignment by key on piston. Repair History: Some parts (e.g. crook) replacements made to order of previous owner.
