Rosewood, in five joints, with seven nickel silver mounts. Eight circular nickel silver keys, the lower two with pewter plugs, all mounted on wooden saddles. The mouth-hole is bushed with ivory with three inlaid brass repair pins at either side. Metal-sleeved tuning barrel. Replacement cap in head joint. Pitch of the instrument: D. In a black leather-covered case, lined with red velvet, with silver lid-plate inscribed "Harvey Ludlow, 26th Feby. 1845."
