Mandore

Body comprised of nine alternating ribs of ebony and ivory. The belly is made from a single piece of pine, carved with a rose in an interlacing, geometric pattern. The ebony fingerboard has seven gut frets and is inlaid with ivory stringing. The nut is also of ivory. The pegbox is of ebony, inlaid with ivory, with an octagonal-shaped finial of alternatiing ebony and ivory inlay. There are 12 ebony pegs for the six double courses.
