Kit

A kit is a type of small, portable violin used by dancing masters and itinerant musicians from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries. It exists in a narrow stick shape that could be carried in a tubular case, or in the form of a miniature viol or violin with a long neck. This kit is shaped like a little viol with sloping shoulders. The front of one-piece spruce and back of one-piece maple are steeply arched. The f-holes are short and set low. Despite a repaired break below the button, it is in good condition, preserving its original maple neck and pegbox and, perhaps, its original pegs
