Technical description: boxwood; 4 sections (lower body and foot in one piece); brass keys; 4 dark horn ferrules plus cap; 1 wide brass ferrule; metal-lined head; long, graduated metal tuning-slide; tuning section of lighter-coloured wood; graduated wooden screw-stopper; ivory-bushed, rounded rectangular embouchure-hole; irregularly-placed finger-holes, with L1 and L2 set close together and L2 and R3 offset towards player; R3 finger-hole recessed in wood; very slim keyshanks and small keytouches; G♯ key-hole on upper body; adjacent, slightly overlapping low C/C♯ touches.; Nominal pitch: C.; Type or system: 8 keys.; Keyhead type: cup, with metal-lined key-holes.; Keymount type: knob.; Usable pitch: A₄ c|452|Hz (in present condition).; Performance characteristics: [original range C₄|-|C₇]; in present condition only right hand notes speak, but these have a bright, resonant sound.
