Bass bugle.
Technical description: Brass with german silver ferrules, garland, bow guard and tuning mechanism. Two coils. Tuning by sliding mouthpiece receiver with parallel restraining rod; the rod runs in a narrow parallel tube which has a sprung key with a pin which engages in perforations in the rod: there are eleven perforation which allow positioning of the slide at 4mm intervals.; Nominal pitch: 9-ft B♭.; Usable pitch: Probably built for use at circa A₄=|440|Hz.
