Violoncello and bow
The violoncello is made of maple, with a spruce soundboard, ebony fingerboard and tailpiece, and boxwood pegs. It was made by Isle of Man resident Thomas Kay, who was a joiner and schoolteacher. It was played in Malew Parish Church, then used in the Primitive Methodist Chapel. The bow appears to be original to the instrument.
