Transverse Flute in C
Side-blown flute made of dark wood in four sections (head, barrel, body, and long foot joint), with eight nickel-silver, modern style cup keys mounted in posts with rods. Head is lined with brass, and tenon-socket joint with barrel is of nickel-silver. Flat springs attached to keys and cork paddings. Nickel-silver ferrules, and nickel-silver cap screw. Oval embouchure hole, and larger 4th and 5th fingerholes. Long F-key with pronounced angle shaft. Adjacent low C and low C-sharp touches. Nominal pitch: C This instrument belonged to the collection of the former Buffs Regimental Museum.
