Side Drum, brass, 1850 (c); used by the 1st Madras European Fusiliers, carried at the Relief of Lucknow 25 Sep 1857; no design; drum heads and flesh hoops whole, probably replacements; wooden cord hoops with eight hook cord slides, one missing on upper hoop, painted blue outside with red edge and white worm and white outside with red edge and white worm; brass plaque on upper hoop inscribed with commemoration inscription; lower hoop holds four tension brackets and four pulley brackets; white blancoed tension rope; four snares.
