Bell

Bell, bronze, 1852; taken by the 18th (Royal Irish) Regiment of Foot at the Capture of Sch We Dagon Pagoda, Rangoon, during the 2nd Burma War; cone shaped with broad rounded top; body has three bands of reeding and is inscribed with oriental script; shoulders decorated with two bands of leaves coming from central axis; bell is surmounted by a circular baluster which holds two Burmese dragons standing back to back.
