Bass drum

Bass drum, 1910 (c); wooden shell, front painted dark blue surmounted by red patch with horizontal yellow and blue stripes and maker’s name painted in gold, Hawkes and Son, London; above this is inscribed the regimental name, royal coat of arms and below, a motto; flesh hoops whole; one whole head with tear; thirteen cord hoops; white blancoed cords with buff leather braces; two brass legs missing from hoops; used by the 4th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers.
