Double bass
This double bass is made of maple, with a spruce top. It has a flat, rather than a carved back. The fingerboard is a dark wood, possibly Brazil wood, which is been painted to resemble ebony. It has four individual tuning machines, all of which have wooden extensions to mimic the appearance of cello pegs. The tailpiece on this base was originally for three stringed instrument, but has been converted to four strings by the addition of an extra hole.
