Transverse flute
Side-blown flute made of cocus wood in five sections (head, barrel, upper and middle joints, and foot joint), with nickel-silver ferrules and keywork. It has eight modern-style-cup keys mounted in posts with rods, with flat brass springs attached to keys, and cork paddings. The low C and C-sharp keys have adjacent touches. The head is lined with metal, as well as the socket/tenon joint with the barrel, and has a wooden cap with wooden threaded screw with nickel-silver tip, and cork stopper. The embouchure hole is circular, and the tenons are wrapped in cork and paper. Nominal pitch: C.
