Cornu
This is a replica of a Roman cornu, a natural trumpet of circular form with a wooden crossbar, as found in the excavations of Pompeii. It was made by Boosey & Hawkes to be used in a military tattoo. The conical tube is made of brass sheet in three sections (tab seam visible), and has a narrow mouthpiece receiver and a small bell flare.
