Lyra glockenspiel
This instrument is associated with the 3rd Battalion of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment, and it was presented by Colonel L. Bonhote. It is a portable glockenspiel (i.e. metallophone - percussion instrument with tuned metal bars) frame in the shape of a lyre, therefore known as ""lyra glockenspiel"" or ""bell lyra,"" which is used in military or other marching bands. The frame is supported on a shaft and is carried, and played vertically while marching. This frame is made of hollow copper alloy sheet. The shaft and set of bars are missing.
